Ingredients

• 1/2 kg fresh tomatoes (or 1 large tin preserved tomatoes)
• 1 onion, chopped
• Basil
• 1 bayleaf
• 1/4 cup oil
• 1 garlic clove
• Salt
• Pepper

Instructions

• Heat oil in a saucepan and saute onion.
• Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for half an hour or more, until the sauce absorbs its water.
• This sauce can be used in pasta or rice.
