Hunkar begendi is a Turkish dish and means literally “Sultan’s Delight. It is well known in Greece and cooked by the Greeks in Constantinopolis.
This is an appetizer plate that is served in the island of Lesvos. The portions of the ingredients are approximate. This recipe is for making around 20 pieces. It is considered a difficult dish to prepare.
One of our favorite beef recipes. The combination of rich beef sauce on top of mashed potatoes is unique.
Vrasto is a soup with meat (beef) and vegetables like potatoes, carrots and celery.

Yuvarlak means round in Turkish. Yiouvarlakia are a kind of meatballs with sauce. The are found in Greek as well as in Turkish cuisines. In this recipe we added some ouzo to give some extra flavour in the meatballs.
