Hints & Tips:
Wild greens grow on the forest, fields or coastal rocks. Not all varieties are edible and certain experience is required to distinguish them. Some varieties are bitter and other sweet in taste. Hopefully now days villagers cultivate them and therefore they can be purchased all year-round. Wild greens (horta) are served boiled with oil and lemon as a salad. They are also added in pies. You can see a demonstration of how the wild greens are collected from the Greek nature HERE.
In Greece the juice of the wild greens is drunk from many people as it is considered very healthy and helps in blood circulation and in various diseases.
