INGREDIENTS

  • 750 gr large apples
  • 300 gr sugar
  • cinnamon stick
  • lemon rind
  • 400 ml water (use as much as you want. The lesser you add the thicker the syrup will become)

METHOD

Wash and clean the apples. Cut each one in 2 pieces, or in 4 pieces if they are too large. Place them in water and add some drops of lemon to avoid getting the apples a brown colour. In the meantime add the sugar and the water in a saucepan. Add the apples, the cinnamon stick and the lemon rind and bring into boil. When they are soft enough remove from saucepan and place them in a pot, discard the lemon rind and the cinnamon stick and boil the syrup for some more time to thicken it more. When finished, pour the syrup over the apples and let the apples cool.
