  1. Place all ingredients on a salad bowl
  2. Salt them
  3. Pour vinegar, oil and mix very very well.


  • 4 Tomatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 Cucumber, washed and cut in thin slices. Do not peel the cucumber!
  • 1 green pepper, cut finely in thin stripes
  • 1 large onion, finely sliced
  • At least 100 gr hard feta cheese, from the barrel
  • Black Kalamata olives
  • Capper
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • Thick salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • A good vinegar

    The picture looks great, but there are no directions for what to do with the parsley or how much of the condiments to add for authentic greek flavor. These ommissions keep this from being a good recipe.

  2. since the dressing is what really distinguishes a Greek salad from all others – to omit proportions is just plain unprofessional. Too much vinegar can destroy the expensive ingredients!

  3. My father came from the island of Crete and we always had the greek salad but we used olive oil and lemon juice instead of vinegar and I prefer it. Anyway, this is my favorite salad.
